We again came back to our technical content guys about how the things works. It's been so many days that i didn't uploaded about any mechanism concepts right. Don't worry today i brought you about a heavy vehicle mechanism.
How many of you like heavy vehicles like cranes. Those are incredible designs guys and the army vehicles also. The mechanism using in them are mind blowing. We are already aware of crane machines or vehicles. I think we are mostly aware of JCB crane than any other cranes except working people. For every hard duty or work, without help of these machines we just can't build the things easier.
From now onwards i will try to explain the cranes mechanisms with cad design to you guys. But those are heavy duty works and need time for them. You just please co-operate with me.
As like today i brought you how the Road Roller Works. We can easily estimate or understanding the present road rollers. But i am saying about the old roller, where it doesn't have any rubber tires in it. The whole body is made of metals except the seat and belt drives. You can see the picture of the roller of old design and my design.
The mechanism used in this crane is running with chain transmission from gear box to rear wheel shaft. And the rear shaft is connected to only one wheel rigidly and other wheel is having free movement. Just as same like rickshaw works. While taking turn it is hard to that much heavy vehicle to take, and if we added direct shaft or differential there maybe an damage of shaft will occur.
As you can see i added an electrical motor with a gear box and gear box wheel is connected to the shaft using belt ( actually the chain is used instead of belt chain is can't able to draw there so thats why ). The chain is used because of to avoid the damages to the gear box or to shaft when got any hits to it. Therefore we can change the chain easily than the gears.
Coming to the Steering Mechanism, there the bevel gear combination is used to rotate the front roller. ( Actually i need to add cv joint or else another small gear box in it, to make the mechanism possible, i will add it soon after i done). And the turning ratio of the steering wheel and front axle is different that, for one complete steering rotation angle is equals to the half of the steering rotation angle of front axle.
