Beyond aesthetics, flat digital displays significantly reduce manufacturing complexity and cost across different trim levels. Instead of designing and manufacturing distinct physical gauge clusters for the base model versus the high-performance variant, the automaker can simply install the same screen and alter the software.
Additionally, as cars become more software-defined with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and complex performance metrics, digital displays provide the necessary real estate to communicate this data effectively. While purists may mourn the loss of the physical needle sweeping across the dial, the transition to screens is an inevitable evolution, blending the raw power of muscle cars with the digital demands of the 21st century.
